Are you in need of a daughter – Someone who will complete tasks for you, just like a loving daughter would? Are you, an elderly person, friend, or a parent, etc … requiring some form of assistance? I’m offering my very personal service as Rent a Daughter in the Cape Town southern suburbs, Cape Peninsula areas.

I am a well-traveled, well-read, artist / designer, with a bubbly, caring personality, who would like to offer my services to anyone requiring any form of assistance, including various forms of business assistance, and as an aide and companion to the elderly.

During Covid-19, many individuals have found themselves in a very isolated and/or lonely place. I could bring joy and companionship to their lives. I would willingly step into that role, … like a real daughter would.

I am therefore seeking to assist two groups:
  • Anyone requiring assistance, love and/or care
  • Family and friends of the elderly, who do not live in Cape Town, and would like someone to step in to provide their special loved ones with the support they require

SERVICES OFFERED, but not limited to:

  • Short-term, non-medical live-in care
  • Companionship
  • Transport
  • Basic admin / errands, etc
  • Celebrations
  • Relocating / downsizing assistance
  • Other tasks (see list below)

SHORT TERM, NON-MEDICAL CARE

This Rent a Daughter service is offered to those who require post-op care, or, for some reason, need assistance for a short period of time to get back on their feet and independent again. It could be a hip, or knee replacement, or some other kind of other post-op care.

If you are worried about leaving your parent unattended while you go on vacation, I would also be happy to granny, or grandpa-sit while you’re away. I am not a nurse, but a gentle, caring and attentive person.

  • Monitor the patient’s progress:
  • – make sure that they take their medication correctly
  • – follow doctor’s & physiotherapist’s programs
  • Support if they feel weak and vulnerable
  • Support and call for professional assistance (if required) in case of an emergency (e.g a fall).
  • Prepare delicious, healthy meals and treats
  • Light housekeeping
  • Create an environment which is conducive to a speedy and happy recovery
  • Available daily (9am – 4pm), or 24 hours (10am – 10am). Live in periods (maximum 2 weeks shifts). I have another experienced companion/carer to alternate the shifts.

COMPANIONSHIP

Regular visits will give the individual something to look forward to, whether it’s once or twice a week, or once a month. These visits could bolster mental wellness. I am, if requested, also able to provide feedback to family about the mental and physical well-being of their loved one; and monitor general cleanliness of their clothing, linen and home.

These visits could include:

TESTIMONIALS:

“Thank you so much Kim for all your assistance after my right knee replacement. For all the driving to and from the doctors and hospital, for doing my shopping, helping me with my exercises, making my coffee, for all the delicious meals, reading and chatting to me, making me comfortable, cheering me up during those moments when I was feeling down and alone, helping me with the feeding and looking after my pug and giving him lots of much needed love and care (he will love you forever – thank you – it really meant so much knowing you were treating him like a prince). I highly recommend your services.” – Gail Tyler (Wynberg)

“Kim provides a caring service which I was so grateful for when she helped with my mum when I couldn’t be there for her. Most appreciated.” Siobhan Evans (Meadowridge)

“Kim provided me with wonderful care after my horrendous fall. I had a brain bleed and an emergency hip replacement. Kim watched over me, prepared my meals, and kept me company when I needed it. She has a great sense of humour. She’s very helpful, caring and a delight to have around. I would absolutely recommend her.” Jill (Noordhoek Manor Retirement Village)
