She offers a wide variety of creative workshops aimed at adults: from beginners to proficient. Kim’s passion for teaching, and sharing her knowledge knows no bounds. She loves to champion others to be their best, creative self through discovery and play.
Kim’s workshops cover all sorts of techniques, including painting, drawing, printing and mixed media.

(1) BLOCK ART

In this 3-hour workshop you will create your own semi-3D piece of wall art consisting of 9 different black and white abstract pieces. You will arrange your own set in a semi-3D effect using spacers to create your very own, original piece of art. (Frame not included, only a suggestion). This workshop will introduce you to drawing, painting, printing, and other techniques.

(2) INTRO TO ABSTRACT ART

In this 4-hour workshop, you will be introduced to abstract, intuitive painting. You will learn the basics – how to get inspired, different mark-making techniques, choosing a colour palette, how to layer-up to create a sense of depth, and generally learn how to just ‘let go’ and have fun, using paint and other mediums in a variety of ways.

(3) PAINT LIKE VAN GOGH

In this 3-hour workshop, you will be introduced to an impressionistic, impasto style of painting, mimicking the vibrant strokes of Vincent van Gogh.
You will be guided the whole way, starting with a few short painting exercises, before commencing with your very own A4 landscape in van Gogh’s style.

(4) LEARN TO DRAW

This is a 3-hour workshop, designed especially for complete beginners who can only draw stick figures, or for those who want to brush up on their drawing skills. You will learn to really observe, and how to convey what you see to paper. You will be introduced to various observational exercises and drawing techniques which will help you capture form, scale and shadow.

(5) LINOCUT PRINTING

In this 6-hour workshop you will be introduced to a very exciting printing technique. You will learn how to draw up a design and transfer it to the lino before starting the carving process. Multiple prints will be made as you tweak your cut design. Once you have your desired, final look, you will aim to create a limited edition of 3 prints.

In this 3-hour workshop you will be introduced to the very exciting world of Jim Dine, a contemporary artist living in New York. His graphic style, using simple shapes and layers of colour and textures, is a feast for the eyes. Come and play and create your own Dine-inspired piece of original art.

The Dada Art Period began during WW1. Artists at this time rejected traditional values & conventions and rather embraced the spontaneous, the absurd and anti-establishment views. They liked to shock, or entertain, through unorthodox techniques, and performances.
During this 3-hour workshop you’ll embrace your inner crazy to create a piece of very unusual art, while laughing all the way.

Grab one of your old, incomplete, or discarded ACRYLIC paintings and your paints, and come and have some fun!
Size: A2 size, or smaller. There is not enough room with a full class to go bigger.
In this 4-hour workshop – Let’s think outside the box and explore all kinds of approaches & techniques to transform your old, abandoned relic into something more exciting. It’s a forgotten piece of ‘trash’ so there’s no limitations to how far we can push it.
If you want to break away from the same-oh, same-oh approach to your paintings, and want to try thinking and playing in a completely different way – then this creative workshop is especially for you.
