Kim Watermeyer is a multi-disciplinary & mixed media artist living in Cape Town. She has many years of experience as a university lecturer in painting, drawing and other artistic disciplines. She loves to share her knowledge and skills with passion and humour. She champions all kinds of creativity – nurturing individual, creative expression, in a relaxed, positive, and fun environment.

PAINTING CLASSES for ADULTS (acrylics)
Beginners are most welcome!
Students can join in the many painting projects Kim offers, or they can paint whatever they want. The projects are not compulsory, however, most of her students absolutely love them because they are embracing their own, original work, rather than a copy of someone else’s.
In 2024, each student picked a theme and painted ten, separate Mock-A-Masters. Each Mock-A-Master (from Impressionism to Contemporary), taught the students new painting skills & techniques. The program was such a success, she is repeating this project in her Thursday evening class.

MORNINGS: 9am – 11am
- Wednesdays (General Painting)
- Thursdays (General Painting) (Opening May, 2025)
EVENINGS: 7pm – 9pm
- Wednesdays (General Painting)
- Thursdays (Mock-a-Master Project is aimed at beginners, but anyone is welcome!)
PRICES:
Prices depend on how many Wednesdays or Thursdays are in the month. Prices include tuition, tea, coffee & cookies.

NOTE: Approx every 12 weeks, or so, Kim hosts a 4hr make-up class on a Saturday morning for those who may have missed a class – because she understand that life gets in the way. However, if you can’t make the make-up class, that’s unfortunate.

FRIDAYS ONLY | 4 Hours | 9am – 1pm | Various price options
This is a fun, private, collaborative, small team building event held at In The Zone, in Plumstead.
The studio will not be booked for anyone else during your session.
Min of 4 adults, maximum 8 adults (18+) – No painting experience is required!
Number of Participants:
- 4 – 6: R4 100 TOTAL (A4 canvas each) | R4 400 TOTAL (A3 canvas each)
- 7 – 8: R5 300 TOTAL (A4 canvas each) | R5 750 TOTAL (A3 canvas each)
- Price includes stretched canvases, colour printouts, use of studio paint & tools, facilitation, tea, coffee & cookies.
- You are welcome to bring more eats, alcohol, decorations etc.

It’s a perfect way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, start of retirement, or just a group of friends having fun!
